Markets We Serve
Vico Associates provides OEM Sales and Support activities to a variety of industrial and transportation markets throughout the United States. Targeting OEMs who manufacture products containing engines and drivetrains, wheels and suspensions, focuses our efforts on selling product lines that have similar types of customers as well as similar development and product life cycles. This commonality is a benefit for the supplier manufacturers who we represent as it allows us to have a highly targeted approach with engineers and buyers who we have strong working relationships with for other product lines.
Below is a summary of each of the major markets we are actively engaged with throughout the United States and across the world with our global customers.
Heavy Truck
The Heavy Truck market is a unique mix of moderate to high volume production with low to moderate product variation. With increasing sophistication in the product development and supply chain functions, more and more is being asked of suppliers, and an experience sales and account management team is essential for success in this market. The 4 major OEM’s are distributed throughout the country, and we are positioned with sales offices within a short drive of each OEM headquarters location.
Recreational Vehicle (RV)
The RV Market is wide ranging and can be rewarding and challenging at the same time. Cost conscious buyers are the norm, with individual brands constantly seeking differentiation. With the industry primarily centered in Elkhart, IN and a secondary presence on the West Coast, we are positioned next to nearly 100% of the manufacturers in the US Market. Our team regularly supports and attends most RV Industry trade shows in addition to our direct marketing and sales presence at the customers’ locations.
Construction/Agriculture (Con/AG)
The Construction and Ag market is a key market segment for the Vico sales team. While the names and vehicles are easily recognizable by many, building relationships within these companies can prove to be difficult. With over 50 years of experience selling into all of the manufacturers with a US presence, the Vico Team is poised to use their customer knowledge to guide their manufacturing partners on new and current programs. Cultivating new leads and opportunities, and turning them into mature programs, is what we do daily.
FIRE TRUCK/AMBULANCE/Rescue
The fire and rescue market is another market segment that has been integral to Vico and our manufacturing partners. While this market features a segment of fire trucks and ambulances that are standard configurations, many departments globally need vehicles with configurations and features that are unique to their location and/or planned use. Having companies that can provide solutions to meet those needs is critical without adding additional cost. When lives are on the line, their equipment cannot fail. Partnering with world class companies that can perform and deliver at the highest levels is a must.
Powersports
This market features a wide variety of products that many would consider “toys”. However, they provide their enthusiasts with vehicles that help them work, play, and everything in between. From motorcycles and electric low-speed vehicles (LSV’s) to the off-highway ATVs, side-by-side UTVs, snowmobiles, and personal watercrafts (PWCs), this market is an ever-changing landscape where brand loyalty, product differentiation, and 1st to market with new designs/concepts are all very important. Vico’s team is well-positioned within the key OEMs and tiered-partners within this market space to provide design assistance where needed. Adding design features that improve the customer experience without adding additional cost is a constant tug-of-war our team deals with daily.
Turf Care
Turf care is one of those markets where the OEMs are as diverse as the equipment they manufacture. From zero-turn mowers to specialty vehicles used in golf course maintenance and landscaping, each vehicle has a function and purpose to service a need. Equipment OEMs know their products will be subjected to daily abuse. Failure is not an option. With new CARB and EPA regulations going into effect yearly, OEMs are designing new products to reduce emissions, noise, increase productivity, and in some cases, run autonomously, This is where the Vico sales team can use their experience and manufacturing partners to aid in new product development to create the next generation of products that will meet the needs of their demanding list of OEMs.
Industrial/Powergen/Pumps/Compressors
Genset manufacturers have been designing both portable and stationary units for residential and commercial applications to provide, standby, continuous or prime power. The industries and applications their products serve provide power for critical functions to support and improve daily life. As with other industries the Vico Sales team serves, the products and services they provide to their OEM customers has to work. Many of the gensets made are installed in remote locations and providing service can be difficult. Our manufacturing partners provide products that monitor and report system-level functions to ensure the gensets are operating at peak performance. Some of our products provide diagnostic data to predict potential failures before they happen, which can save an end user money and extended intervals of downtime. Adding value is what the Vico sales team does daily for their customers and manufacturers.
Marine
The recreational marine segment is very diverse and another key market for Vico and our manufacturing partners. From recreational boats to fishing and sport boats, to cabin cruisers and yachts, product differentiation and being able to react quickly are some of the hallmarks of this industry. Our team has outstanding relationships with the various OEM’s and their fuel and propulsion system Tier I Suppliers to be able to address their ever changing needs and requirements.
Bus/Transit
Another key market for the Vico Sales Team is the Transit- Bus and Rail OEMs. School buses, motor coaches, and locomotives are the heart of this market. As with the other markets that Vico serves, the vehicles are used daily and must work without fail. Downtime is a loss of revenue to the owner operators. Safety is another key aspect of this market segment and partnering with a company that understands those regulations is imperative.
